Anegada, reef platform facies (Pleistocene of Virgin Islands, British)
Where: Virgin Islands, British (18.7° N, 64.3° W: paleocoordinates 18.7° N, 64.3° W)
• coordinate based on political unit
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: Late/Upper Pleistocene (0.1 - 0.0 Ma)
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; lithified floatstone
• Rudaceous biomicrite with abundant lenses of biocalcarenite. The corals do not occur randomly but are normally concentrated in relatively small areas which may or may not have a relative relief up to 3 feet with surrounding exposures. These concentrations are interpreted as representing small patch reefs developed locally on the platform.
Size class: macrofossils
